In October, I took the opportunity with some friends and my girlfriend to enjoy a

weekend in Cutler, Maine. It was the first time I’ve ever been that far east in the state I

grew up in. We paddled in this dinghy to an island not too far from the mainland, and as

I knew going to Cutler that I’d be stricken with the autumn beauty, and beguiled by the
