Dear Editor,

            If any of your readers have been paying attention to the talks in Paris, they’ll see a lot of focus on things like oil used for home heating, energy efficient cars, and rainforest preservation. I wonder why there isn’t more talk about the COWS. In the Huffington post, I read that, “By some estimates, the meat and dairy industry is responsible for up to half of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions — contributing more to climate change than even coal-fired power plants.”

            I’d like to see some kind of regular attention to this matter in the spring issues of the Beacon—I’d like to know more about it, and especially what students in our community could do about it.
