Poetic License: “Post Traumatic Hate Disorder”

Jessica Spoto

Falling back into the beast that consumes her

She chooses to live rather than die

A strength no one knows she has

Abuse reached upon her like a wave of broken bones

Flashbacks eat away at her dying heart

Tic toc,tic toc, tic toc

Almost there,almost gone

Seeing life as a whole story

Her story falling apart

Page by page , day by day , minute by minute

Her strength is hidden by the judgments of others

Taken away, thrown away, given away

Staying afloat above the water that drowns her

Slipping into the shadows of reality

Her heart crumbles leaving wounds that numb her

Wondering why her mind is diluted  with broken hearts, broken souls

She falls, she crashes, she screams

She reaches out for someone to help

Reaching out for no one there

In one moment with one breath

Her heart weakens , soul darkens, mind closes

Love gone, hope ended, hate conquers

Woosh, woosh , woosh, gone
