Well now, for some of us it’s welcome back to SMCC, for the rest welcome to. The college experience is quite exciting as you are starting new journeys in ways of being. Sure you have tons to figure out, so why not take some time to think about your future wedding dress.  Some of us may not be even thinking of marriage but many of us dream of it one day. We dream of the perfect venue, food and most importantly the perfect dress. Make sure it’s perfect or else the mega bridezilla might come out!  If you are engaged and want ideas on the perfect dress, the TV show Say Yes to the Dress would be great inspiration for you.

Say Yes to The Dress is on TLC and it follows the beautiful journey of brides finding their dream wedding dress. The show starts off with introducing the bride. The bride always smiles when they ask her about their fiance , so cute! Then she cries and cries about them. Hmm makes you think if is tears of joy or just cold feet! After the intro  the bridal consultant directs the bride into the fitting room. The four gray walls with a mirror.  It’s like a fancy prison!   Anyway in the fitting room is where the budget and type of dress the bride wants is discussed and discussed and discussed to literal death. They talk about textures, fabrics, color, style and much more.

A very crucial component of a wedding dress is the style which gives the overall shape of the dress. Shapes hmm it’s like preschool all over again! There are many different styles of wedding dresses. So many styles, so little time! The two most popular wedding dress styles are the mermaid and ball gown.  

The mermaid fit dress hugs the hips and locks the bride’s legs together creating a mermaid tail effect. If you dreamed of having trouble walking at your wedding this dress is for you! At least in the mermaid, you will look like the Ariel from the little mermaid in all her fishy glory. The ball gown is the total opposite. Cinderella’s  gown she wore to the ball, is the essence of a ball gown. This dress is simply a princess look. So if you want to look like a big ball of mushy marshmallow fluff go ahead and put on this poofy creation.
