Hey guys, so it’s officially fall, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve been craving some nice, warm comfort food. Don’t know what to make for breakfast? Don’t want to drive all the way into Portland to go to Denny’s? Well, keep reading to learn how to make sweet savory French toast in the comfort of your very own door room. In a mug no less!
This recipe has a few basic cooking staples that can be used to make a plethora of other concoctions, so don’t let the total price steer you away from trying this bad boy out!
Ingredients:
2 slices of bread
1 Tbs butter
¼ cup milk
1 egg
¼ Tbs vanilla extract
¼ Tbs cinnamon
¼ Tbs white sugar
Prices:
Cinnamon Swirl bread- $3.99
Half dozen eggs- $0.89
Vanilla extract- $2.19
Small bottle of milk- $0.99
Two sticks of butter- $2.39
Granulated sugar- $1.69
Ground cinnamon-$1.99
Total- $14.13
- Melt the butter in a microwave safe mug for about 30 seconds. Cover all sides of the mug with a coat of butter.
- Mix milk, beaten egg, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla into the mug of melted butter.
- Cut two slices of bread up into small cubes. Submerge bread cubes into the mug with the egg mixture.
- Microwave on high for about 90 seconds.
- Enjoy!
