Voting Calendar and Voting Importance

No matter your age, income, occupation, race, etc. you are most likely able to vote. Only two states allow convicted felons to vote, Vermont, and Maine. Voting is a right that is a privilege, and a chance to actively impact for all. Maine has one of the most accessible voting processes in the country, according to Maine.gov.

Engaging in the political process of democracy is a key responsibility of every citizen in Maine. There are several organizations designed to educate people on the significance of voting and its history such as the League of Women Voters in Maine, Vote.org, and Maine Student’s Vote. There is no need to join one of these groups, however, because the process is really quite simple. In an upcoming article, we will take a look at the voting calendar for Maine, and how YOU can make a choice to be active in changing and shaping where and how you live.
