If there are any SMCC fans that have been watching MLB as of recently have probably seen the dominant performances from the Braves or the Rays so far, but what I was really interested in talking about is how my favorite team, the Kansas City Royals, have been performing.
Since the start of the season, the Royals have struggled to pull wins together and particularly have struggled at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals have hoisted a 9-26 as of May 7th, practically matching their record from 2018 at this point of the season. The Royals are due for a new stadium sometime in the near future, leaving question as to whether the Royals will be good anytime soon.
On the other note, Former Royals outfielder and 2015 World Series champion Lorenzo Cain was honored by having jersey retired last night at Kauffman Stadium, Cain signed a one day contract with the Royals so he could retire in the Royal blue and white colors, as a huge Royals fan, this was amazing to see happen. Royals catcher Salvador Perez, who is the last remaining player from the 2015 Championship team, honored the outfielder with a golden cane. The vibes in Kansas City definitely felt similar as to what they had felt like back in 2015.
