Jose Ramirez was signed by the Boston Red Sox 2018 out of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Ramirez was signed as a 17; he looks back at it as a difficult time but is happy he got through it. Growing up, he always dreamed of being like Pedro Martinez, one of the best pitchers in the sport’s history and was also from the DR. Currently, he looks up to Luis Castillo of the Seattle Mariners and visualizes himself in that way. So far in the 2023 season, his favorite moment was throwing six innings in a game for the first time. As we enter the second half of the season, he is looking forward to making it to the next level in the organization; he is working hard to make that happen.
