Episode four left off on a cliffhanger with Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) being coerced by Rick Flagg Sr (Frank Grillo) to arrest Peacemaker (John Cena) to regain favorability in the U.S government, as well as Red St. Wild (Michael Rooker) using magic to track down Eagly. This latest episode continues to build on the multiversal aspect of this season; the ending may change the DCU big time. Throughout this season, we have seen Peacemaker battle with the life he lives in the current DCU universe, which includes his failed relationships with his father and Harcourt, as well as the guilt of his brother’s death early in his life.
In season two, episode one, we see Peacemaker open the QUC (quantum unfolding chamber), which holds doorways to 100 different dimensions. He finds a parallel universe, a better home life, a loving family, and relationships that have worked out better than what he has seen.

After Argus breaks into Peacemaker’s home in episode four, Peacemaker flees to an old shack with Adebayo (Danielle Brooks). She tells him that his life is in their universe. Peacemaker, needing an answer from Harcourt about their future, meets with her. After she confirms she doesn’t have feelings for Peacemaker, he is surrounded by Argus.
After being arrested, Peacemaker is finally interrogated by Rick Flagg Sr. Flagg takes out his anger on Peacemaker for being responsible for his son’s passing. He angrily beats Peacemaker before being stopped by Sasha Bordeaux (Sol Rodriguez) due to John Economos (Steve Agee) booking his arrest. Peacemaker is released and decides that’s the final straw for him. After returning to the shack with Eagly, Peacemaker decides to open the QUC again and enter the other world fully by closing the door behind him. However, he doesn’t suspect Judo Master (Nhut Le), who follows behind him. The QUC is closed by the time Adebayo and Vigilante (Freddie Stroma) arrive back at the shack. All that is left is a note that contains Peacemaker’s goodbye. The episode ends with Adebayo, Economos, Harcourt, and Vigilante discussing Chris’s leaving and how to get him back, as well as Peacemaker enjoying his life in the other dimension. Is Peacemaker really gone? Or will he return to the DCU again?
