Peacemaker’s brother, Keith, is infuriated when learning his brother’s life was lost when our Peacemaker stumbled into the alternate universe, leading to an altercation. In this reality, Peacemaker’s dad was a better guy and was going to let them leave. Unfortunately, Vigilante ended up attacking him, and he lost his life. Peacemaker escapes back to his reality. Where Rick Flagg Sr. (Frank Grillo) is waiting to arrest them. Peacemaker surrenders the QUC and turns himself in, sparing the others. Episode 8 begins with a flashback that finally reveals the night when everything happened between Peacemaker and Harcourt. After a friend date where they drank a lot, Peacemaker takes Harcourt to a concert on a boat. Listening to the band Nelson and the song To Get Back to You. They share a kiss, but Harcourt walks off after. Back to the present day, where, after Peacemaker is bailed out of jail, he still won’t talk to any of his friends. He believes he is cursed. Together, Harcourt, Economos, and Bordeaux ping Peacemakers’ location. The whole group tells Peacemaker how much they love him. One final time, Peacemaker asks Harcourt if the boat meant anything one more time, and she finally admits that “it meant everything”.
Peacemaker gets his answer and closure. Together, the group creates Checkmate using Vigilante’s funds; everyone is making the world a better place. However, it’s not over… at the end of the episode, Peacemaker is kidnapped by Argus and Rick Flagg. Sr. He ends up tossing Peacemaker into Salvation as the first “test” before shutting the door, he says, “this is for Ricky,” referring to Rick Flagg Jr. The season ends with Peacemaker stuck in Salvation, with eerie monster noises coming from the background. A shocking end that makes everyone wonder what Peacemaker’s future is in the DCU.
