For the science fiction fans of the world, the release of the Any Weir novel adaptation, Project Hail Mary, might just be on your radar. Soon to be released on May 20 of next year, fans now have access to the movie’s official trailer.

This sci-fi adventure follows a middle school science teacher, Ryland Grace, as he wakes with amnesia aboard a spaceship with two dead crewmates. As his memory slowly returns, he learns he’s been tasked with saving humanity against an extinction-level threat.

The novel combines mathematically accurate physics, chemistry, astronomy, and engineering with equally quirky and humor-filled characters and dialogue.

Weir’s first movie adaptation was The Martian, which had wild success. As this second film comes closer to viewing, the reviews are poised to rival the first. Starring Ryan Gosling as the lead, Ryland Grace, and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, it’s a movie you won’t want to miss.
