Young Democratic Socialists ROCK!

The Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) chapter is throwing an anti-fascism concert on April 2in the noisy lounge, on the South Portland campus. Local artists performing at the show include, Ant, They, Shepard, Just Put Something Down, and I Think You’re A Bad Influence. The concert is free however you can donate to the Maine Solidarity Fund whose missions is to “provide rapid, direct, and equitable support to community members facing increasing detention, targeted harassment, policy rollbacks, and systemic discrimination under the new Trump Administration.”

The Young Democratic Socialists of America meet regularly on campus and you can find more information on their meetings on the SMCC social app as well as posted on flyers all around campus. The YDSA was recently formed on campus this semester as a response to Turning Point USA (TPU) forming to give students the chance to explore more progressive left-wing ideology to balance out the further right rhetoric from TPU. Providing a safe place to discuss politics, culture, and life at SMCC.
