Last Friday, the fall time ritual of Refund Check Day came earlier than usual on the SMCC South Portland campus. Students lined up bright and early outside of the Hub Gym to get their checks. The checks are a result of scholarships, grants, loans and financial aid whose funds have become available for the students receiving them. The checks come with no strings attached meaning; you can spend it at your own discretion. Approximately 1,300 students had a refund check available for them.
