As the semester continues to move forward, Alpha Chi Nu wants to take one more minute to thank the many hands that supported and made our Chapter’s College Project possible. With the support and encouragement of the college community, Alpha Chi Nu’s Mentor Mixers were a wonderful success and a fantastic opportunity for us as members to learn and grow through the experience.
Special thanks to President Ronald Cantor for taking the time to meet with an Alpha Chi Nu representative to discuss the direction of the college and the potential impact we as a Chapter could have in helping to facilitate student-teacher connections while improving student retention and creating a greater sense of community. Not only encouraging the process, President Cantor as well as Chuck Gregory, were more than accommodating in providing outlets and platforms for Alpha Chi Nu to present Mentor Mixers to the faculty. Such as, allowing Alpha Chi Nu to have a presence at faculty convocation and for making important speaking time at the podium available to our Chapter President.
Without such clear channels to the heart of the Mixers (the faculty), we would ultimately have been unsuccessful in our endeavor and therefore cannot thank our administration enough for providing such opportunities.

For their continued support, during even the delightful days of summer, Alpha Chi Nu extends its sincerest thanks to Rachel Guthrie, Katharine Gergosian, Jeremy Dill, and Stacey Kardash of the Advising Office team. Without your assistance navigating the resources of the campus, Alpha Chi Nu would not have made the connections possible to make the Mentor Mixers a success. It is with their heavy involvement throughout the initial planning stages to the completion of the event itself, that was invaluable in achieving the Chapter’s objective.
In assisting with promoting Mentor Mixers, making sure students and faculty were aware of our endeavor, Alpha Chi Nu would like to thank Clark Canfield and Chuck Ott for their continued support in student initiatives by way of Campus Connections and The Beacon respectively. Their platforms give a face to Alpha Chi Nu and the projects we are undergoing. Without which, our efforts would be for not. Thanks as well, to Michael Cheney and the staff in Central Services for accommodating our promotional needs during a very busy time for you. Your time and efforts are so appreciated!
Encouragement and support, both in action and financially, Alpha Chi Nu would like to thank both Kathleen Doan and Chuck Ott for their generous offerings to use their resources to fund Mentor Mixers. In addition, we would like to thank Amy Mullen for providing goodies for giveaways. To Sodexo as well, we extend our thanks and gratitude for their generous donation in providing pizza to all of the Mentor Mixers. In both product and labor, we so very much appreciate you giving of your time and effort to contribute in such a resounding way, to our Chapter’s project.
Your Alpha Chi Nu members would also like to thank the students who attended for taking an active role in participating in Mentor Mixers. We look forward to hosting more Mentor Mixers in the future, using our gained knowledge and student/faculty feedback to continuously better and grow these events, in continuing to pursue the college’s overall mission.
