How to Remember College

By Jessica Spoto

In the daily grind of college life it is difficult to remember every minute detail, day after day. We run out the door and forget our textbook. We miss work because — whoops! — we didn’t look at the schedule. So what is the solution to this inevitable forgetfulness? Well, there are three fantastic little ways in which these common mishaps can be solved.

Little way #1

A small pocket notebook is an easy tool that works wonders. Keep your pocket notebook on you. Then if something comes to mind that you need to remember, simply write it down. This solution is also extremely cheap as well. You can easily get three pocket notebooks at Walmart for 88 cents.

Little way #2

Plan your day the night before. If you have trouble forgetting your textbook, work clothes or anything else you need for the next day, planning things out the night before is a simple and easy solution. Get your backpack ready with all your books, notebooks, and all you need for classes the next day. Lay your work clothes so they are impossible to miss. Be prepared the next morning and you won’t forget a thing. Pre-planning at night is also a good way to save time the next day.

Little way #3

Always double-check! Getting in the habit of double-checking is a great way to keep yourself from getting stuck in a jam. If you are known for forgetting your keys, wallet, or phone once you leave your house, run through a mental checklist when your are leaving your home. Say it out loud if you need to: I have my keys, my wallet, my phone. Repeating this process over and over creates a routine that helps you remember the things you most often forget.

  1. That was a neat little article that Jessica Spoto wrote about remembering things and sticking to routines, I like the idea of before leaving your home you say out loud to yourself “do u have my keys my wallet my phone” cause pretty much those 3 things are things we all need so that would work for anyone!!
