Originally “A Star is Born” was released in 1937. This was released October 4, 2018, where Bradley played the role of the rockstar while Gaga played a singer-songwriter that gets discovered.
We all know what history is, whether in our books at school or stories told from an older relative. Not only is history something that brings people together but music does as well, coming from different cultural backgrounds. So, how does music now fall into our history today?
Lady Gaga has been a legend for some time throughout the 21st century. On February 24, 2019, “A Star is Born” has won Gaga an Oscar making her the first person in history to not only win this, but also a Grammy, BAFTA and Golden Globe. She took home her coveted golden statue for the award of Best Original Song for “Shallow”.
Gaga performed this song live on the Grammys, moving her audience alongside Bradley Cooper. She then gave a speech on how hard she has worked to get where she is today. She spoke about how “life isn’t about how many times you’re beaten what matters is that you get up.” Once you can do that, you can become whatever you want to be. To have this inspiring outlook and attitude about life this is what makes music history, as musicians use their platforms and voices for the greater good.
