Submitted by Tori Penny

This semester the Midcoast Campus started a partnership with Midcoast Hunger Prevention to stock the Midcoast Campus Food Nook. Located in Orion Hall, the Midcoast’s version of the Captain’s Cupboard is open to all SMCC community members. The Food Nook is open during the week until 8 PM and by appointment during the weekends. The nook has recently been stocked with a large variety of food including: snacks, meal basics, produce, milk, eggs, and bread.

On February 9th, 6 Resident Assistants traveled to Springfield, MA for a Res Life student staff conference called 413. The Midcoast participants attended a number of sessions to improve their work as RAs and to help further develop our program. In attendance was Ashley Holmes, Lydia Thorner, Andrea Kyzer, Chris Ozon, Taylor Kinney, Daniel Exodia, accompanied by Graduate Assistant Alex Matos, Resident Director Lizz Tharpe, and Resident Director Tori Penney.
