Microsoft recently announced the arrival of the new Surface Pro 8. The 2 in 1 PC will be out on October 5th in the United States. However, it will not arrive in some countries until early 2022 because of global chip and processor shortages.
The Surface Pro 8 has some major changes compared to its predecessor, the Surface Pro 7. These changes include:
- New Intel 11th Gen U-series processor.
- Larger 120Hz 13-inch display.
- Removable SSD.
- 2x Thunderbolt 4 port.
- Windows 11 operating system.
The user can also enable some hardware features that are compatible with Windows 11. The user can enable a dynamic refresh rate which is 120Hz, but only when scrolling or using the pen. When Surface Pro 8 is on standby with the display off. The user can turn on the display with a few taps on the screen, just like a smartphone.

In my opinion, the Surface Pro 8 is a beast with crazy speed and power. However, I advise people to know what they are buying. Most of us already have a powerful computer, and we do not even use them to half of their potential. It should always be about what we need rather than what we want. If you ask me, I will go for the Surface Pro 8 because it is great for designing. However, I will not buy it to use it for general office work.
