During the holiday season I love making treats for my family and friends. This recipe takes roughly 4 hours to make because of the dry time. The portions are easy to control though I personally could eat a bag full in a single day.
Ingredients:
For the base you will need
2 ½ cups of Halved Pecans
1 tablespoon of Water
1 tablespoon of Honey
1 teaspoon of Canola Oil
For the spice mix you will need
¼ cup of Sugar
1 teaspoon of Ginger
1 teaspoon of Cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon of Cayenne
½ teaspoon of salt
Directions:
Step One:
To toast the pecans, spread evenly onto a baking sheet and put into an oven that has been preheated at 325 degree fahrenheit for 15 minutes and then set aside.
Step Two:
Combine the spice mix in a bowl and then set aside.
Step Three:
Combine the base mix in a saucepan and heat to boiling, Add the pecans and stir until they are completely coated and no moisture remains in the pan.
Step Four:
Remove from the heat and quickly toss with the spice mixture until coated.
Step Five:
Spread the pecans evenly over baking paper and allow them to dry for 2-3 hours.
