Let’s Dance

By Jessica Spoto

Dancing on the edge of sanity

Is at a price of this temperamental insanity, instability

Colors, puke, vomit, covers the walls of a minty green

Like chocolate

White middle class, the stale dessert

Feeds our inner child

Too loose of a screw

Throws off the machine

Just a page in a textbook

Mold in the airways

A dollar sign to an institution

We are a replaceable puzzle piece fitting nicely into the mold in which reality is.

It just is.

  1. As a young adult in college, life does often feel like you’re “Dancing on the edge of sanity” I’m sure many others could agree. Great poem!
