
- The Tidal Shift Award is a juried competition held by the Portland Museum of Art in Maine that aims to showcase, amplify and elevate youth perspectives and art to highlight climate change solutions.
- Winners will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, 2023. Division 1 winners (ages 14-18) will receive $2,500 each and division II winners (ages 19-22) will receive $5,000 each.
- Participants can submit any medium or combination of media (within official rule guidelines) including visual art, music, poetry and more.
- The competition is open to people ages 14-22 across the Northeast, including Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
- Students need to provide the following (electronically): Photos or videos of their artwork, film, music, written piece, etc. (within official rule guidelines). A work statement of up to 250 words. A filled-out application form.
- All Finalists will have their Entry exhibited in the Portland, Maine area near the time of Earth Day (currently earmarked for the evening of April 21).
