Part of the $1 trillion Infrastructure bill sets aside funds for the construction of EV charging stations around the nation
By Ian Kerr
Vice President Kamala Harris announced that they plan to build 500,000 charging stations for electric vehicles around the country, and bring down the price of EVs.

Vice President Harris states “The future of transportation in our nation and around the world is electric”. The $1 trillion dollar infrastructure bill president Biden put into law last month provides allocations for $5 billion to states to build thee charging stations, including rural areas.

Harris states the hope to “make electric vehicles accessible for everyone” and to “make it easy just like filling up your car with gas”. The new charging station plan creates a joint electric vehicles office between the transportation and federal energy departments. As well as this, it ensures consultations between manufacturers, local governments, civil rights groups, tribes, among other groups. Getting more electric vehicles on the road to replace polluting gasoline cars will help the environment.
