Lehana Petelo is a first year student at SMCC majoring in Liberal Arts with a focus in English. As an aspiring journalist, she enjoys reading, writing, and advocating for others. 

Not an overly political person, Petelo believes it is important for all of us to be educated on the current events of politics; because whether we recognize it or not, politics affect everyone. She hopes to turn a topic that cultivates so much disparity into one that can make every student feel as though they have a voice. This semester, Petelo will strive to impartially educate the SMCC body on the things that affect all of us, whether we recognize it or not.
