If you are a Taylor Swift fan, chances are you missed out on purchasing tickets to her new tour. Tickets to Swift’s “The Eras Tour” were first available on Ticketmaster for “verified fans.” More than 3.5 million people pre-registered to be a “verified fan,” the largest registration in the company’s history. The website quickly became overwhelmed due to the amount of fans trying to purchase tickets. ‘Technical difficulties’ kept thousands of fans from purchasing tickets. Ticketmaster then announced the cancellation of ticket sales to the general public due to the high demands and an insufficient amount of tickets to meet that demand. Many fans expressed their anger about the entire situation. Even Swift herself released a statement expressing her disappointment. Swift wrote on Instagram, “It goes without saying that I’m extremely protective of my fans. It’s really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for me to watch mistakes happen with no recourse.”
However, fans in Maine are in luck because the State Theatre in Portland will host a party on February 24th. “Best Night Ever: Taylor’s Version” will be “a dance party playing nothing but Taylor, all eras. Playing all the Taylor hits + deep cuts you know “All Too Well” + requests.” Tickets for the show are on sale now on the State Theatre website. According to WJBQ, the response has been positive, and they suspect that the tickets will sell out. Make sure you get your tickets now!
