I asked SMCC students to submit photography, poetry, pottery, or anything that is related to art every week to share with the readers of The Beacon. Because it’s National Poetry Month, I’m hoping to get some more poetry in for this month. To encourage you all, last week I posted a poem of my own, along with Logan Mullikin’s poem, “Tweeting Bird.” Please send me your poetry and art work. Your classmates will appreciate your work.
Christopher Carpenter submitted three beautiful photographs to The Beacon’s Art & Poetry column. Below his three images, take a peek at the ceramic dolphin.

Down below this writing is what I worked on in art class in High School. It’s a dolphin whistle but the whistle sadly does not work. It’s still one of my favorite pieces.
